About IN46

IN46 started on April 26, 2024, with a camera and a simple

idea. The first photos I ever took were of my brother’s

Volkswagen Passat. There was nothing planned about it

and no real expectation behind it. It was just me taking the

time to shoot something and see what I could do with it.

Looking back, that moment mattered because it was the

first time I took photography seriously enough to think

about improving.

A few days later, on May 1, I photographed a friend’s baseball

games. That was a completely different experience. Everything

was moving, and I had to learn how to react instead of setting

up a shot. It pushed me to pay attention to timing and

positioning, and it showed me early on that capturing real

moments takes more than just pointing a camera.

 

As the year went on, a big part of IN46 became documenting

my brother’s football season through 2024 and into 2025. I

focused on game days, capturing key plays, emotions, and the

overall atmosphere. Those games helped me get more

comfortable shooting in fast paced environments and taught

me how to stay consistent while things were constantly

changing.

 

Outside of the games, I started taking on more creative work connected to

important moments in his life. I made his commitment graphic, which gave me a

chance to work on design and editing in a more detailed way. It was different from

shooting photos because everything had to be built from scratch, but it helped

expand what IN46 could be.

 

From there, I continued working on more personal shoots. I took his prom

photos, focusing on clean and simple shots that still felt natural. After that

came his graduation photos, which were about capturing a milestone in a way

that felt real and not forced. Each of these shoots added something different

and helped me understand how to work with people, not just subjects.

 

 

 

 

 

 

IN46 did not come together all at once. It built over time through repetition and learning as I went. Every shoot helped me improve, whether it was sports, portraits, or design work. What started as a few photos of a car turned into something more consistent and more intentional.

 

At this point, IN46 is about documenting real moments and creating visuals that feel honest. The goal has stayed the same from the beginning, just executed at a higher level with more experience behind it.

 

That growth eventually opened the door to something bigger than individual shoots. As my skills became more consistent, I started applying them to help build a full online presence for a real business. That led to the creation of Rickleffpainting.com, where photography, video, and design all came together in one place. It marked a shift from just capturing moments to helping shape how a business presents itself, and it showed how far IN46 had come from where it started.
